I will give you some guidelines on how to know, when perfection becomes an excuse. Why is wanting to exercise and eat exactly the right way prevents you from being healthy, strong and resilient?
You are aiming for perfection or you aim for the right way or you want to do more, you want it to be hard you want it to be all or it’s nothing.
That is your expectation, you want to do your best, otherwise there is no point.
What kind of mindset do you put yourself in? When you have those expectations.
Well, first of all, you will defend yourself if things are not going the way you planned when you don’t reach those expectations.
We always have a reason as to why we did not reach our own expectations. This is when perfection becomes an excuse.
If you aim for perfection and don’t reach those expectations it’s easier to say well I only want perfection or I will do it the right way or not at all, otherwise there is no point.
This helps you not to feel bad for not doing what you set out to do in the first place. For not reaching your own expectations.
This is also the reason why things are not effortless and rewarding, it’s the reason it’s hard to get started and to be consistent.
Is your health worth putting on hold for this reason? No, it’s not. Your health matters!
