How important is warming up? really? Do you tend to skip the warm up?
It’s important. It might not feel important because isn’t necessarily hard and what impact will it have if it’s not? Also, many of us find it quite boring and if we are short of time it’s easy to push that priority to the side. However there are no questions about it, warming up is really important to get the most out of the activity you are set out to do and for a healthy, strong and resilient body in general.
No, sometimes a 3-5 min of raising the heat rate will do the job but you get much more out of it when you start being specific.
It takes me about 5 min to warm up before a bike ride and the warm-up I do before a run is pretty similar. When you are short of time, take 5 minutes to warm up and do 5 minutes less of the activity you set out to do.
